Welcome to the Winter edition of Health & Beauty Newsletter.

During the winter the quantity of daylight diminishes and as the days become shorter some of us will notice difficulty getting out of bed, weight gain, tiredness, tight and painful muscles and seasonal depression. The cold weather affects us all in different ways, depending on our constitution and health condition. In this issue I will share some timely tips that are particularly relevant to the cold, windy season.

In the last newsletter I introduced Bio- Pacific skin care products, the only TGA approved natural products for acne treatment. In July I will be able to incorporate these natural organic skin care products in a new treatment called Dermatherapy.

Please read how Dermatherapy can help to heal most common problem skin conditions.

I hope you enjoy reading the newsletter as much as I did writing it.

Good health from the inside out

What is Dermatherapy?

An exclusive, advanced facial designed to infuse desired Bio – Pacific skin care product using the gentle range of high-frequency and microcurents.

Apart from enhancing the penetration of the products, the benefits of this treatment can be enormous
such as:

  • Stimulating the fibroblast cells to regenerate the skin’s own connective tissues – the collagen and elastine fibers.

  • Increasing the blood microcirculation on the cellular level.

  • Decongests the vascular and lymphatic circulation resulting in oxygenation of the tissues.

  • Enhancing the delivery of nutrients to each skin cell by reaching deepest possible level of the dermis.

  • Improving lymphatic drainage.

  • Reducing the appearance of enlarged pores and blackheads.

A planned course of Dermatherapy program is a recommended method for improving serious skin problems.
Severe acne, eczema , psoriasis and dermatitis, capillaries and scarring, as well as pigmented, dehydrated and aged skin, all show remarkable and real improvements, sustained over time.
In general all skin conditions will benefit from regular Dermatherapy Treatments.

Depending on the appraisal of your particular problem or skin type a typical program would consist of one Dermatherapy Treatment a week for the first four weeks, followed by once-monthly thereafter.

Changes in such things as diet, medication and lifestyle can also help normalize and balance your skin condition and minimize some of the factors contributing to any skin problems.

Combination of Dermatherapy Treatments withAcupuncture or Acupuncture Face-Lift ensures a faster and more refined result because the underlying causes of skin problems can be treated and you will be able to cherish ‘good health from the inside out’.

Take advantage of our winter special deal and book for a four week program of 14 treatments of Acupuncture Face-Lift and 4 Dermatherapy facials and save a healthy $220.

Escape the winter chills.

With each seasonal change our bodies are subjected to different responses. If you dislike the hot summer and prefer the cooler winter days you are probably a Hot Type that lacks the cooling and calming energy called Yin energy. You may easily develop a weakness in the liver and kidney meridians and you should keep your feet warm as well as the lower back to avoid getting sick.

If you hate the cold winter weather you may represent the Cold Type that lacks the heating qualities of your system called Yang energy, and you may have a weakness in the lung and spleen energy. The outside cold can easily penetrate and cause respiratory and digestive problems.

Winter is the time of hibernation and contraction as the body’s metabolic functions slow down. So at this time of the year it is recommended to save your energy and rest more, to be in tune with nature.

Balancing and strengthening the energy flow in relating meridians through acupuncture treatments could be a good option to strengthen your immune system and offset flu and colds.

Tips for the Season.

Tip # 1: Keep warm

By wearing adequate clothing and sleeping covered with a doona or a good blanket with closed windows to avoid drafts. When we sleep the protective energy of our lungs doesn’t guard the skin surface any more, it penetrates deep inside to protect our organs. This means the cold chills can easily enter the body while we sleep. Breathing through the nose warms and cleans the air before it reaches our lungs.

Tip # 2: Have warm food and drink

That means no more ice creams and cold drinks straight from the fridge. Cold can cause stress on the stomach and spleen, resulting in weakening of the digestive process causing bloating and loose stools. Eating warm cooked food like soup, stew or casserole with lamb and plenty of yellow vegetables will nourish the Spleen and Stomach energy. Lamb has the hottest energy qualities.

Tip # 3: Take a sauna regularly

The skin is our largest eliminative organ – the “third kidney”. It is generally considered that the skin should eliminate 30 % of body wastes such as salts, acids and toxins by way of perspiration. Due to the lack of physical work and an overly sedentary life style the skin of most people today has degenerated as an eliminative organ. It is of vital importance that the eliminative activity of the skin is revitalised. Taking a Scandinavian Sauna regularly will help to dispel excess toxins stored in the body cells, such as heavy metals like mercury, lead and cadmium, thus saving your kidneys and liver from overworking.

Tip # 4: Nourish your skin

During the winter months our skin needs extra attention because exposure to wind and cold creates dehydration and dryness. A good way to improve your skin condition is by application of the Bio-Pacific facial mask that suits your individual skin condition – apply it on a clean face and leave for 20 minutes. Rinse with warm water. Another option is to let Joanna take care of your face. Deluxe or Luxury Facials deliver outstanding results.
